Ms. C. TrachHello Parents, I know I've said it before, but I'll say it again, HOLY COW!!! Where is the year going? March is here (so far in like a lamb?????) and things are busier than ever. On Thursday we have Report Cards for K-8. This is the second term and longest part of the year. I would like to see all the students finish strong and trying for personal bests. With festival next week, heritage fair the week after and the 7-10's practising for Dinner Theatre, things are a little crazy right now. If you could remember to ask your child how their doing, if they need a hand (or a hug as the case may be) and tell them you are there for them. I know that helps me many times. I, also am here to help, so if there are any questions (parent or student), please feel free to come and talk to me. Keep working hard, and supporting your child(ren). Here are a few suggestions: A) Read at least 5-10 minutes every night with your child, or have them read to you. Statisitcs show that this will improve your child's reading ability by 70%. B) Try to find Math in everyday life. We are starting Mult. and Div. of Whole Numbers but recognizing any type of math is excellent. C) Homework - I don't 'assign' homework, but there are times when students may have a bit to finish at home, as well as studying for tests and quizzes. D) Heritage Fair is taking place on March 19/10. All boards for grade 5 and 6 MUST be in by March 11th so we can fix any errors and practise.
If you ever have any questions, please don't hesitate to call me. Sincerely, Ms. C. Trach Grade 5 Wed. - weekly spelling pop quiz Thurs. - weekly spelling pre-test Fri. - weekly spelling test COOL MATH WEB SITES: www.coolmath.com COOL SCIENCE WEB SITES:
